This new offering from the Ruben Group is designed for families whose adolescents/young adults have returned from a program (Wilderness/adventure, therapeutic boarding school, substance abuse/mental health residential) and have been home for about one to three months. 

Join two of our family coaches in Nashville for a two day refresher program, fully customized to your family. 

Included in the program:

-       A 75 minute call gathering information on your family history and dynamics, programs attended, and how things have gone so far at home.

-       Meetings in a comfortable space in downtown Nashville.

-       Two - eight hour days with two of our coaches. We will engage in meetings with the young person and parents separately and together as a group. And we may also use the opportunity to embark on a brief family therapeutic outing to promote connection. We know that these talks can be physically and emotionally draining, so we build in extra time for meal/nap breaks, walking around the hotel, and light chat. We want this to be an enjoyable and bonding experience that also includes some hard work that you can take home with you. 

-       The meetings, while tailored specifically to your family, will typically focus on;

o    How well have you been able to integrate the learnings from the program, both for the adolescent and in the parent’s parallel process? We will refresh those concepts and bring them back to life. 

o    What has been going well and not so well since the homecoming? We will focus on acknowledging the good will and improving the not so wells. 

o    If there is a written contract that your family completed with the treatment team (home agreement), is it being followed? Have you been more successful in holding boundaries than before treatment? We will reinforce those concepts and get back on track, reworking the home agreement or starting the process of creating a home agreement if there isn’t one. Is there a Plan B firmly in place in the event a downward slide happens? 

o    Have the shifts to your parental style been effective? We will relook at transparent and loving communication, how to keep situations from escalating, and how to enforce consequences in a calm and matter of fact way. 

o    Is your family having fun together? How can we improve on that? 

The cost of the program is $7,000. This does not include the cost of the meeting space, or your travel, hotel, and meal expenses for the duration. 

Some families bonded with other families during the time their child was in program. If multiple families would like to engage in this process together we can make that happen as well.
